My Story
Childhood
- Born — Asansol, West Bengal.
- Everything revolved around sports — tennis, cricket, snooker, swimming.
At 16, read Rashmi Bansal's books. Decided I wanted to build a business of my own.
College — HansRaj, DU
- Economics Honours.
- 1st failed startup — Scribble. Notebooks with ads on the back to reduce cost for students.
- 2nd failed startup — PullsEye. Ads on hand-pulled rickshaws. Shut down by the municipal corporation.
Two failures and a degree. Needed to learn how real businesses work.
EY (2015)
- Learned how service businesses work — pitching, acquiring, delivering.
Saw what scale looks like. Wanted to build my own.
Blue Vector (2016–2022)
- Full-service creative agency. Did some phenomenal work for brands like Trump Towers, Audi, Porsche, Chivas.
- As revenue soared, the glamour seeped in.
- Early success sometimes does more harm than good.
- A major client defaulted. COVID hit. Revenue halved overnight. Team and expenses scaled on paper profits that never came.
The outside looked impressive. The inside was falling apart.
Arhatic Yoga (2018–present)
- A colleague introduced me to Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. Changed how I see everything — what to build, how to build, and how spirituality and materialism are two wings of the same bird.
The practice taught me what "good" actually looks like. I wanted the next thing I built to reflect that.
InCommon (2023–present)
- Incorporated 2023. Raised pre-seed from Better Capital.
- We help good companies find great talent, and good people find the right opportunities.
- Built on three principles: long-term over short-term, purpose over profits, cash in bank over vanity metrics.
Since making peace with enough, ventures have grown more than when I was obsessed with more. Still on both paths. Still learning. They were never two separate paths to begin with.
